COVID BUSINESS SUPPORT UPDATE

COVID BUSINESS SUPPORT UPDATE – SCHEMES LISTED BELOW
I know this is an incredibly challenging time for local businesses and many have been in touch with me to find out what financial support they may be eligible for to help get through this second lockdown.
Below is a list of the Scottish Government schemes that are available now, or will be opening soon.
For businesses that are required to close by law, you could qualify for a temporary closure grant every week for four weeks. This would amount to:
£2,000 if your business premises has a rateable value of up to and including £51,000
£3,000 if your business premises has a rateable value of £51,001 or above
Those eligible for the temporary closure grant would also receive a one off top up grant of:
£25,000 for larger hospitality businesses on top of the 4-weekly £3,000
£6,000 for smaller hospitality businesses on top of the 4-weekly £2,000
£9,000 for larger retail and leisure businesses on top of the 4-weekly £3,000
£6,000 for smaller retail and leisure businesses on top of the 4-weekly £2,000
IMPORTANT – These grants will be paid every four weeks in arrears without the need to reapply whilst restrictions are in place. Businesses that have already applied for and been paid temporary closure or restrictions grants for November & December need not reapply as adjustments will be automatically made, and top ups added, to ongoing payments. For businesses looking to enhance their storefronts with professional services, click here for shop front services and explore what you need.
A commitment has also been made to deliver the following sectoral support and more information on when these will open and how to apply should be available soon:
Newly Self-Employed Hardship
Mobile Close Contact Services Fund
Taxi and Private Vehicle Hire Support Fund
B&B and Guesthouse Support
Wedding Sector Support Fund
Local Authority Discretionary Fund
Ski Centre Support Fund
Travel Agents Fund
Coach Companies and Tour Operators Support
Visitor Attractions Fund
The above schemes aim to fill the gaps in support and catch some of those that have fallen through the gaps so far.
Updates on these grants will be published on the following websites and I’d encourage local businesses to check these regularly to find out what support they may be eligible for:
