IMPORTANT NOTICE TO RESIDENTS OF HOPEMAN

PLANNING APPLICATION FOR RETAIL UNIT, INDUSTRIAL UNIT

AND TWO BLOCKS OF 4 FLATS AT FORSYTH STREET HOPEMAN

We are writing to advise those of you who are not already aware that the above planning application has been submitted to Moray Council by Springfield Real Estate Management Ltd (SREM). The full details of the application can be viewed on-line at the Moray Council website (http://www.moray.gov.uk/moray_standard/page_41669.html).
A plan of the proposed development is below for your information.

Where such a significant development is being proposed, it is normal practice that the Association responds to the Council reflecting the views of residents. Unfortunately, the current restrictions prevent the Community Association from calling a meeting at which residents could air their views. Despite this difficulty, we believe it remains crucial that the Association is seen to be representing the residents in responding to this application and in doing so, to reflect the view of the community.

The developer’s proposals have recently been circulated to members of the Association Committee and responses received are clearly against this development proceeding. We are now seeking wider community views to give direction to the Association so that it can respond accordingly as to whether the community wishes to support or object to the proposed
development.

In order to do this, we seek your assistance by advising us of your opinion, for or against the development, by messaging either the Hopeman Community Association website (www.hopeman.org.uk) or alternatively by contacting the Association on the following number 01343 831252.  The greater the number of responses received the better enabled we will be to reflect the true view of the community.

On this occasion time is very much against us as we are required to finalise our response to the Planning Department by the 11th June.  Obviously some time will be required to review responses and collate the relevant information before responding. We would therefore ask that you take a little time to review the developer’s proposals and in addition to making a personal response on the Council’s planning website, that you also send a message to the Association using one of the methods given above on or before Friday 5th June expressing your view.

Thank you for your assistance, it will be very much appreciated.
